I used the sheep skin stuff in the buggy to keep them cool and have them a big bottle before flight so went off to sleep.

If you're breastfeeding I'd try to feed during take off and landing to help her ears. And then make sure you drink lots of water as she'll be guzzling through you if it's hot!

Hi OP. We went to Ibiza when my son was a similar age and it was the easiest trip we've done with him. I breastfed for take off and landing on the plane and he slept in between. You probably won't have a pram when you get off the plane so it would be really handy to take a baby carrier for the walk to baggage reclaim etc.

We went to the beach most days. We took a little beach tent to keep him in the shade on the sand.

DH did lots of nap time walks with DS which kept him in a bit of routine as he didn't nap easily on the beach. In the evening, we would get ready in the evening, give him his last feed then pop him in the pram and he'd dose off on the walk to a restaurant so we'd have a lovely evening to ourselves. We'd then just transfer him to bed later on and he'd sleep through.

Hope you have a fab time.

It will be fine. Much easier at that age than when they are mobile. I would delay starting weaning until after you return. It’s so much easier when you only have to do milk feeds and you don’t have a baby with a gurgling tummy keeping you all up on holiday.

Sling for the plane and airport and times when you can’t take the pushchair places. Bring or buy a big blanket for the floor. Most Spanish homes/hotels will have a non-carpeted floor which is hard to lie baby down on (and also quite dirty if they are pushing up/scooting around on it).

Adjust to Spanish time. Long sleep back at your hotel in the afternoons to stay out of the heat and stay up late and have a wander in the evenings when it’s cool.

Don’t do ‘kid stuff’. With a tiny portable baby who still naps, you can go drink wine and eat tapas. You can go to museums and botanical gardens. You can take turns each having a few hours to read on the beach. It’s very different to having a toddler you have to entertain.

Have a lovely time. I took my now 7 year old to Barcelona (on my own) at 8 months and it was such a lovely time.

Bottled water with low sodium has a symbol of a baby with a bottle on it.
