Bamboozles

Hello
I'm thinking of making Bamboozles my nappy of choice - so before I buy 15 please can someone tell me whether they are good, bad or ugly?

If bad or ugly please point me in the right direction.

This will be my first baby (due July) so first experience of the world of nappies - so I'm a bit befuggled.

THANKS!
Choc

Bamboozles IMO are OK, not amazing, not awful.

They take a while to dry and have a tendancy to shrink with use. They stay nice and soft (as do all bamboo nappies) and have a decent resale value. You'll probably find you'll be out of the Size 1's before you reach 18lbs though.

There are other bamboo nappies out there which I think might be better - sometimes I think totsbots are a bit over-rated or over-priced now there are many other alternatives.
Bambinex are good. They have a high rise and are quite thin around the bum so are well suited to long, thin babies. I find totsbots aren't too high in the rise compared to some so if you or your DP are tall it might be worth waiting to see if your DC is too before splashing out.

All that said, I have bamboozles set aside for my DC. I got them cheaply second hand and know if they don't suit I can sell them on easily.

Wrap wise - use Motherease Rikkis or Airflow rather than the Totsbots ones. Motherease are more reliable (if sadly a little dull pattern wise)

Ptreyy much what BBM said.

I find bambeasies the best for an all rounder - a nice wide bum so suit chunkies as well as skinny, and they have a nice amount of stretch to them

I wouldn't buy a load of nappies until you've had the baby TBH - as flame said, different nappies suit different babies. I've tried bamboozles, fluffles and mother-ease one size and the bamboozles are great for night time but I have found my MEOs the best - still going strong after over 3 years' use and onto the second baby.

Whoops, sorry meant bigbadmouse, not flame!!

I found bambinex better than bamboozles tbh, MEOs are bulky on a newborn compared to size 2 bambinex. I also loved easy peasy bumbles which can be used as a birth to potty nappy.

BigBadMouse · 20/05/2008 21:19

I'm going to agree with Flame now - Bambeasies are fab - I like all the Easy Peasy Range in fact.

Yep, you can get Bamboo MEOS which are much nicer than the usual terry ones so if you want to stick with bamboo then you could go down that route. I personally can't stand MEOS though and found them an awful fit for my DD - at least the bamboo ones feel nice though!

WHere are you located? It is possible there is a cloth nappy trial scheme in operation in your area so you can try before you buy when your DC arrives. There may also be financial incentives from your local council to be had!

Thanks for all your feedback. Must confess to being rather confused now (thought I'd finally amde one decision!)... but then again I'm knackered and soon to bed. I'll read through again tomorrow - hope you don't mind I think I'll have a few more questions then.
