Career break & childcare

I’m considering a career break of 3-6 months. Assuming in an ideal scenario I find a new job within that 6 month period, can anyone advise what the implications are for:

  • tax free childcare
  • funded hours
  • child benefit
(we currently receive all of the above) TIA x

You wouldn’t get tax free childcare or funded hours after the grace period which I think is 3 months, so if it takes you 5 months to find a job you’d lose it before then if not working.

Funded hours have a grace period. It’s up to 3 months as based on when you renew.

tax free child care, you could take more whilst you are both still working but not eligible when not working. Unsure if Grace period.

child benefit. You can claim but usual repayment rules apply

What do you mean about the TFC when you say we could take more while both working sorry?
