Holiday with 2 under 3. Prams, pushchairs, oh my!

Hi everyone. Taking our DD who'll be almost 3 and our DS who'll be 5 months to Spain in a couple of weeks, and am wondering about the best way to ferry them both about. Staying at a resort all-in for the first time (because of the kids!) but will be doing some trips here and there.

DD is capable of walking quite far, but she's as slow and erratic as you'd expect at her age. She's all but dropped her nap entirely but on hols with the excitement and heat, we figure she'll need to during the day. DS loves kipping in his carrycot which will do for overnights, and his skin is super volatile so we want to avoid slinging him too much due to sweat.

Wondering if we should take our whole Uppababy Vista V2 double set up, or just the carrycot & borrow a lightweight pram for DD. We've got an Integra Solar carrier for DS use in the pool and around the resort. We've also got one of those hiking backpack things we could take for DD???

Thoughts? For some reason I can't get my head around this!

If your already taking the up baby frame and carrycot for baby to use, you might as well take the extra seat as tandem. It will all package up in bag together

We went to the Canaries when our DC were 1 and 3. In the end we took our whole double buggy - bought a buggy bag for it to go in when boarding the plane. Was glad we did as it made walking about much easier when it was hot.

We used one buggy with buggy board and carrier. Infant can go in the buggy (at 5 months a seat is fine I think even if not super flat) or the carrier, and the toddler also has two options of buggy board and buggy seat (which can be vacated if needed for the nap by carrying the infant in the carrier to for a bit)

I'd just take your Vista setup, unless you plan to switch to a more compact setup anyway. If it suits your lifestyle then it will meet your needs on holiday too.

We did a similar holiday at similar ages and just took the one (compact) buggy, which was suitable for either child because the seat could recline completely flat so we didn't need the carrycot for DS2. In the airports, we put DS2 in the sling and DS1 in the buggy, then on the actual holiday we had DS2 in the buggy and DS1 walked (but we'd have had the option to put him in the buggy instead if desperate). This mainly worked for us though because DS1 was definitely not napping.

When mine were little I took my double buggy (they hadn’t invented upperbaby vista!) and it worked great. Whatever they are used to

We took small pushchair for 1yr old and scooter for just turned 3 year old.
