Help his cloth nappies keep falling off!

I have a tall good sized 1 year old who is in nippered Bumbles, these were great until he started crawling and cruising.
Now I find that the nippa has pinged off at the bottom and the nappy has fallen off and is hanging between his legs!
I have tried fluffing up the nappy so the nippa attaches better but it still comes off.
I have tried poppered nappies but find that I can't seem to get a very good fit especially in the rise as DS is so long.
Has anyone had this problem and found a solution?
or can anyone recommend a really good nappy for a tall robust very active 1 year old, thanks

What wraps are you using?

BigBadMouse · 19/05/2008 20:59

You could pin them instead.....

I had this problem with nippas, and never got on with them. I agree with everyone else, nappy pins are better, because you can get a nice snug fit. For your tall DS, have you tried using the kite fold with terry squares?

DD is at nursery in nippered Bimbles and even the most hamfistedly fastened ones are kept on by the wonder that is the ME wrap (Rikki or Airflow both work)

I've started having this problem with nippa nappies during the day (they're ok at night when she's not moving about much).

I'd recommend using a poppered or pull up style wrap over the top (my dd has figured out how to open aplix - which resulted in a rather unpleasant poo incident this morning )

Some nappies can be made with a long rise. Try contacting Upsy Daisy nappies, Baby Bufters or Weenotions (all wahms who are very helpful!)

Hi thanks for all your replies, I am using ME airflows and they are certainly great wraps as if the nappy falls off at least it is contained within the wrap.
I think I will try pins I do happen to have some so it is worth a try.
I haven't tried terry squares but am willing to give anything a go at the moment!

The Nappi Nippa when on should be a distinct Y as in each bit is at full stretch like the printed Y. If it's too much like a T, or a T with a saggy top then it will come off, you really need to pull the centre down as far as you can and dig it in.
Could be time for new Nippas they do wear out after a year or two of constant use.

The nappi nippa site recommends changing every 6 months as the teeth wear down. Plus the rubbery bit can actually give too- I've had one snap on me but then if a bottle were to fall from a star it would hit me
