To extend or not to extend??

Off on hols with 18 month old. Should I get a seat extender type thing or inflatable stand alone one?

Or not bother?

4.5 hr flight on the way there it wont be nap or bedtime. On the way back would be nap time.

Thoughts? And if not what would I take from a comfort perspective for them?

Thanks!

I don't think all planes let you use those inflatable seats so check first

Frequent toddler flier here! Wouldn't bother for that length of flight, they'll sleep on you. It's just another thing to pack! If it's the sort of airline that gives blankets and pillows then that will do.

I always take a big blankety scarf that smells like home because I hate plane smell and it can be rolled up to a pillow or used as a blanket. Keep it simple!

Another frequent toddler flyer. He sleeps on me! We fly his car seat over in the hold but otherwise don’t bring anything on the plane

Also wouldn’t bother. Lift the arm rest up and they’ll be small enough to curl up on the seat with their head on you.

One of the biggest annoyances of flying with toddlers is keeping track of and carrying STUFF, so don’t add to that.

No to the inflatable thing.

He'll sleep on you. Take a cuddly animal or blanket to use as a pillow, jackets can also be stuffed into corners to make it more comfortable
