Need Advice - poo in pants!

Need help on how to get my toddler to poo in the loo. Has abslutely no problems doing number 1 in the toilet but refuses to go for number 2. Would rather poo in her pants.

I've tried ignoring it, i've tried making a fuss.....have given up hope!

Please HELP!!! Any advice would be much appreciated!

had SIX months of this so feel your pain. bribery worked for us in the end. Make a big point of refusing all treats (choc buttons here but whatever works for you) and saying the only way to get your treat is to poo in the loo. Big fuss when she does it, then the treat. Ignore it when she still does it in her pants.

Might take a while but it will eventually click into place. And don't stress in the meantime.

There's quite a few threads on this if you do a search. Good luck

How old astra and how long has she been in pants? In my experience, it takes far longer than you expect (we're on month 5).

How old is she? A lot of children take much longer to deal with poos - my ds took nearly a year longer. I just put a nappy back on whenever he said he needed a poo. He got there in the end.

Try lining a potty with a nappy and let her go on that.

Try and stay calm. I know it is hard but kids are smart if they find something that gets a reaction off Mum.

Buy cheap underwear until fully changed so you aren't fussed about binning them, and then once they can do poos on the toilet you can have a shopping trip to choose some big girl pants with pictures on.

Thanks for advice - did think ignoring was the best course of action. Glad to hear it has happened to others. FYI: Toddler is 2 years and 11months.
