if you get carecare help from your parents, do you think that entitles them to more of a say?

as my parents have been v helpful with dd, although they seem to think as they help us with childcare, so i can work part time, thta means they can have more of a say in what goes on in our lives

do any of you have this with their parents ?

I'm butting in a bit but I wanted to say how relieved I was to see such sensible posts about taking the rough with the smooth. I have a different situation in that I am the one doing childcare for my sister looking after her dd (9)for quite substantial periods of time, up to 7 straight days/nights in one go. We have a different approach to parenting which brings us into conflict as she percieves me as too harsh at times on her dd - but my house my rules and I would never apply a rule that I wouldn't to my own ds (6).
I think we often assume, that because it's family, it will be easy/Ok/straightforward to sort out, but it usually isn't. The arrangement we have has put a big strain on my relationship with my sister. I'm doing it to help out, beacuse I believe in family doing that and because she is on her own, but the bottom line is that it may utimately affect our relationship.
Phew.. may have to name change now that I've got that off my chest...

my mum has looked after my children while I have worked for the last 7 years

she has never attempted to change my parenting style and has always done what dh and I have decided

she has completely respected the fact that we are the parents

so it can work
