Leaving a fan on all night in kids bedroom...?

Do you do it?

I'm a bit funny about leaving things on overnight, generally, so naturally leaving a fan on all night in my 4yo bedroom puts me uneasy and I'm sitting on my hands not to go and turn it off and put it away now. It's on the floor by their bed and behind the bedroom door if that makes a difference. There is a trailing cable. I think this is partly why it makes me nervous and wanting to put it away. They've had he fan on since 8pm ish.

Kids bedroom is in a loft conversion so very well insulated. In the summer when the temp spikes, little one will be having sleepovers in younger siblings bedroom (coolest room in the house) to cope with the heat!

WWYD?

I love, love, love leaving my tower fan on in the summer. The gentle noise helps me have the best nights sleep ever but if it bothers you why not get an a ceiling fan installed intend, I had one in a previous house and liked that almost as much.

Yes, in the summer for both DC. DH has his own room (longstanding sleep difficulties) and he has one on year round.

I think I would feel much more comfortable with a ceiling fan, unfortunately I don't know how practical it would be to install as we have 2 spotlights in a ceiling joist atm. It's a small room!

I believe you can get ones sort of enclosed now without the big fins, or maybe took at a window fitted aircon unit. Speaking to a decent electrician is probably your best bet.

Get a smart plug and program it to be on for a couple of hours when your DC goes to bed.

I bought one of those bladeless ones (like Dyson but cheaper) for our bedroom for when GD sleeps over as we often have the fan on all night in Summer (Aus). I make sure the cord is tucked away under the bed. It’s the best fan we have.

We have a bladeless fan, there's just nowhere to tuck the cord.

I have had a fan set on fire (the blades jammed and it overheated) so I’d not leave one unattended personally.
