Long term senna?

Dd 3 has been constipated since she started weaning. At 1-2 she started withholding, for 10 days at a time. Movicol does indeed make it softer, but doesn't do anything to get it out. She was prescribed senna last month after me using movicol for disimpactation following increased soiling (she didn't actually seem impacted as nothing with any form came out even after 3 days of watery liquid), and this seems extremely effective. I'm still getting the dose right, but she's now v happy when she poops, it's always soft even without movicol due to her diet, and no soiling (unless I try to reduce the dose).

But I see warnings about long term use meaning their bowels become reliant on the senna? But on the other hand, she has never pooped properly anyway... Do I get her regularly going for a few months at least and then check with her Dr? She's been referred to the continence team but no sign of them yet. Her insides must be stretched after years of infrequent movements.
