dd2 is 2.4 years old and i have been trying to introduce her to the potty but without success. She did do 1 wee on the potty but that was just good timing i think.I realise that the child will do it when they are ready but i really am desperate to get her toilet trained. She is in the last size of nappies and they are now getting tight so i dont know what i am going to do.
dd1 was so easy to potty train and was dry day and night at 2.7 .

2.4 is still quite young so don't despair just yet. If you try a different brand of nappies you may find one that does a slightly larger size?

I hated potty training with dd1 even though by all accounts she was fairly easy. dd2 is only 9 months so I have ages to wait before we start again.

I have tried different brands of nappies and they are all roughly the same.dd2 is as tall as a 3-4 year old and very stocky so broad around the waist.

I really don't think it will be easy to train her unless she is ready but tbh I'm not much of an expert on this as DD1 trained herself in the end .

You can get bigger nappies if you need them though. Have a search through the SN topic -I know of a SN girl who is 6, big for her age and still in nappies so they are out there, I'm just not sure where people source them.

We have just done dd (2.3) and she absolutely refused to use the potty, but was fine on the toilet (with a baby bjorn seat)- she complained the potty hurt her bum-maybe this is the reason? (dd quite long, skinny legs).

It did kill us the first weekend- running up to the loo all the time, carrying her, because she can't really do stairs yet.

After a few days (dry!) at nursery though, she started using the potty at home, as thats what they use at nursery- so it has become a little easier now.

3 dry weeks so far! (Thank god- just got a BFP!)
