Expecting DC 3 soon but it's been a while since iv had a baby so I'm on the hunt for a good changing bag.

Can anyone recommend one?

Tiba and Marl do some nice ones but they're quite pricey. There are lots of backpack style ones around now which I found useful the third time round.

I find a bowling style bag easier than a backpack for easily being able to find and access everything - I find things get lost at the bottom in a backpack. Our current one was from mamas and papas, they do quite a few different ones as I remember.

Thanks for the suggestions so far. Has anyone used the ones with the pull out changing mat bit? Not sure if it's something I'd use or not.

Don't bother, just use/get a normal backpack. A changing bag is just a bag, pick something that you can continue to use as your child gets older. We still use the bag that served as our "changing bag" for days out ten years on, because it's just a good quality backpack.

This. I love recommended loads of times never buying an expensive specific changing bag. Absolute con. A normal backpack either plenty of pockets is far more useful.

More practical to get a rucksack from Amazon or a sports store and add in your own changing mat. Baby manufactures add on £’s when actually the better product is one not designed as a baby product.

Brilliant, thanks everyone

I bought one from Amazon not long after DS was born as I realised the one which came with the pram was too small. It’s from a brand called Miss Fong (I think) and is black leather. It looks really nice and not obviously like a changing bag, and I’ve actually used it for work trips since as it fits my big laptop in easily along with extras. Really roomy, clips to attach to pram handles and even one of those straps that mean you can put it over suitcase handle. Lots of compartments, including insulated ones for bottles etc. DS is nearly 3 and we still use it for days out as we’re potty training and need to be able to take spare clothes (lots of pants!), portable potty seat, of course endless snacks and drinks, sun cream etc. it’s great. I can see us using it for family days out for the foreseeable even when potty training is done, as we just get so much in it! It’s comfy when we wear it on our back too.

For changing mat - we got one of those which folds and when it opens out the mat is in the middle and it has compartments either side for wipes, creams, nappy sacks etc. That fit in the bag too! We used it until DS was out of nappies as just so handy to just grab and take to the loo and know you have everything.

No because of everything you own, a baby’s changing mat is the thing that you are going to need to clean the most. And having it attached to a big bag isn’t helpful.

We use a Kipling Seoul rucksack, which has loads of compartments and is really comfy to wear. We used a separate folding changing mat. Youngest is out of nappies but we still use the bag for days out, as we bring water bottles, packed lunches, toys and often splash clothes out with us, and it's better for my back than a shoulder bag. We hang it on the buggy by hanging one strap over the handle.

I've got a Le Nappy one which is really good, opens wider than a normal rucksack at the top making it easier to rummage around, also has a zip at the bottom for access. Also has clips so it can attach to the pram and of course loads of pockets to keep everything organised - they go about halfway down the bag which keeps things more accessible too.

I used to use a normal rucksack with loads of pockets (still a good rucksack) but it wasn't as easy to grab everything quickly.
