Fluffy bunny / chick toy?

BeaAndBen · 14/04/2025 10:26

A one year old doesn’t care about Easter. Literally anything would be fine.

But a board book is a nice gift at any time - Little Red Hen or Guess How Much I Love You if you want an Easter-ish vibe of hens or bunnies.

Fun Easter related craft or toys or books they would have no idea what chocolate eggs are all about anyway

Tesco have some fab easter large soft toys... The pig is gorgeous!

OatFlatWhiteForMe · 14/04/2025 10:26

That’s not my bunny book.

CoffeeBeansGalore · 14/04/2025 10:30

Home Bargains have an adorable Bambi & Thumper fleece blanket £4.99. I got one for my baby dgd. Look online. They deliver.

Obvnotthegolden · 14/04/2025 10:30

Easter or rabbit themed book, top, pajamas, there's a load of things. Have you asked their dm for ideas? If you are the dm you will know the sort of things your dc likes /needs etc

If you're not gonna give your child an Easter egg than I wouldn't bother. Your child is 1. Aside from a fluffy toy or a book, I think you just wanted to let the world know you don't give your kid sugar.

That’s not my bunny book.

This is a perfect suggestion and can be enjoyed time and time again unlike an egg which will be either eaten or forgotten about pretty quickly.

Ygfrhj · 14/04/2025 10:34

Depends - if just turned one then a fluffy toy or something unrelated to Easter. Mine is nearly 2 and loves the little bunny ears and tail set we were given, mainly because nursery have been talking about the Easter bunny.

It’s for my niece, not my own child.

Great suggestions. Thank you.

So you want to add to the tat mountain on principle rather than principles on health being broken for one day.

For a 1 year old who won't have a clue it's Easter or what Easter is.

Think about this.

Just don't bother.

BarnacleBeasley · 14/04/2025 10:37

I'm clearly horrible because I wasn't going to get my 1 year old anything.

If your niece doesn't have the Tomy Hide and Squeak eggs, all kids love those.

craigth162 · 14/04/2025 10:38

Agree on That's not my... type book. Most kids love then and last years

Brother and SIL have invited us over for lunch on Easter Sunday. I was therefore thinking it would be a nice gesture to take a small gift for their almost 1 year-old.

I don’t think you need to buy anything for your own child of similar age just because it’s Easter. This is slightly different. See above.

It is a nice idea, personally I just ignore anybody who thinks a book is tat

cestlavielife · 14/04/2025 10:42

A book with hens eggs or bunnies in it . Ho to your local bookshop. Simple

Still don't think you need to buy anything just for the sake of it tbh.

Katherina198819 · 14/04/2025 10:44

You could buy wooden eggs and put a little baby snack in there. I did that last year with my 2 years old.
I did prepare a little hamper for mine when she was less than one - some Peter Rabbit toys, Easter coluring books, baby snacks. She didn't play with them that year, but she did next year.

Yes, I am aware they don't get it's Easter but I love the idea of the babies being included in celebrations.
I think it's lovely you are thinking about this.

Tigerlilian · 14/04/2025 10:44

I used to buy my nieces and nephews a book at Easter. Not because they weren’t allowed sugar but because they had loads of eggs off other family.

When my little ones were sugar free I made small date brownies with blended medjool dates, walnuts and cacao powder. If you can be bothered 😉....

HundredPercentUnsure · 14/04/2025 10:46

Or how about Hide and Squeak eggs, if they don't have them already?

Something Peter Rabbit or Benjamin Bunny. 🐇
