At home birthday party ideas for 10 year old girl

Does anyone have any recommendations as to something we could do at home or in the park for a 10 year old girl's birthday party?

My daughter is keen to have her friends round to our house, but I don't quite know what to do with them to make it special, as they are a bit old for just playing in the garden (I have done games at home before and it was great, I just worry now they are too old for just this).

Birthday is in May, and we are in London - but there is nothing close by to us so if it's an activity, we couldn't then all come home (plus, the costs are high).

There are about 10 guests, and I could spend up to about £200 on it.

Making food? Eg make your own pizzas and brownies? We have some bubble tea making kits at home that are quite cool for that age group.

or decorating clothes - you can buy white t shirts for everyone and some fabric pens, give them some ideas (from Pinterest) and let them go?

an at home escape room? Scavenger hunt of the local area?

Movie evening
pizza making
nail painting and face masks if she’s into that sort of thing
jewellry making
cupcake decorating
Board games night

When mine was a bit younger, we did a ‘spa day’ - they painted their nails (and each got a nail varnish to choose to take home), they did face masks and laid around on the floor listening to music, and they watched a film with popcorn.

Agree with ideas above - things that have gone well for previous home parties for girls that age -
decorating own pizzas , decorating cupcakes , making slime , making friendship bracelets , buying those ‘stuff your own soft toy kits ‘, nail painting , fabric pens and tote bags , just dance.
It works well if you have a theme and stick to it if your DC have a special interest ? Eg certain bands / sports /
or if they a certain animal you could theme around that.
For that age it still does help to have it quite structured and not too long a party as there can be friendship dramas …

Craft party with a decent object you get to keep (pottery painting or a mosaic coaster for example). You can get kits yourself (supermarkets, Temu etc). Or there would be someone you could book to come, provide materials and and lead the workshop - but that would be more expensive.

For food order a few big takeaway pizzas(if money allows - otherwise buy and heat up, Tesco takeaway style ones are nice) , then buy in a few tubs of nice quality ice-cream. But pretty disposable bowls, and a few sauces/sprinkles, and let them serve and top their own creations.

My daughter was quite into manga drawing at that age so we had a specialist teacher come and do a lesson before a sleepover.

another friend did cupcake decorating which everyone loved.

Science experiments? My 9 y/o wanted one and we did it ourselves.

They all had a (cheap!) lab coat to decorate with fabric pens, did a ‘slime bar’ with different glitters/charms to decorate and mix in, cola and mentos in the back garden was a hit too! And we did a ‘lava lamp’ with oil, water and colours in jars.

They went home with a labcoat and slime, plus sweets. They had so much fun we forgot to do cake 🤣

Homemade afternoon tea served on cake stands and mocktails in old fashioned tea cups or schlur in champagne flutes

I’ve made bath bombs with DDs friends before which they all seemed to enjoy. You could also do a pamper day type thing where they paint their nails. Or cupcake decorating, or there are some
lovely craft kits you could buy like making a dream catcher or bracelet

my daughter just turned 10 and we had a Gladiators party. Bought v cheap blow up pugel sticks on Amazon. And a whistle. But then played lots of games - dodgeball, pugel sticks, we (the gladiators) threw tennis balls at them as they tried to capture the flag with some strategic chairs placed around to run between. It was brilliant and they loved it.
