Cotton pants over (washable) nappies?

Hi there,
Hope someone will be able to help me. With the warm weather we've stopped putting vests on my 15 month old ... and she has figured how to take off her nappy. It got so bad at nursery that they had to put her in a vest! Assuming the weather warms up again we'll need to find another solution.
I thought I'd try to find some cotton 'pants' to go over the nappy and wrap. No idea where to get them... Has anyone any ideas?
Or has anyone any ideas of how to stop her taking off her nappy. (We've just invested in new velcro wraps the next size up, and I don't really want to have to buy the popper ones, as they are cheap... altho' it is possible she'd find them harder to remove!)
thanks,
madcows

I'd just keep a short sleeved vest on to be honest and just not put a t-shirt on.

Put her in a body vest with just a light layer on top?
I know Polarn O Pyret do the over nappy knickers that fit great over cloth, unlike the frilly baby knickers you can get, but they are pricey- I bought some in the last 50% off sale.

mothercare do pants from age 1 i think.popper wraps really are a great invention at this stage though!

John Lewis sell the frilly knickers you speak of, but they are not really cut for cloth. Actually, do cut4cloth do them? But they will be expensive, too.

I think I would go with the short sleeved vest and no t-shirt solution too tbh...(however, I have never had this problem as I use nippa nappies and popper wraps - they never work out how that combination comes off )

second the nappy nippa and popers wrap. As soon as I put a velcro wrap on her,she just pulls it off! Bodyvest is prolly the best potion.

We only use backup cloth nappies at night but we found dressing her in shorts, leggings or panties (in a bigger than needed size for the child to fit over nappy)all seem to stop her stripping off.

could you put her in rompers? Vertbaudet do v cute woven cotton ones thus tha are ideal for summer - have seen similar in Mothercare, Next etc and of course everywhere has regualr cotton jersey ones.
Mothercare also had some dresses with knickers built in but think they were for smaller sizes only

pinkyminky · 15/05/2008 23:59

THat is soo cute. I did get some lovely spaghetti strap rompers for DD last summer from mothercare.

Thanks for all the suggestions! We're going to live o/seas soon, where it will be v hot, so vests are out. She manages to take her nappy off too (with poppers), so am fairly sure she'd get the popper wraps off too. I'll look in John Lewis's for the frilly pants, M'care as well... and the rompers idea is a really good one too!
thanks!

Mothercare do starppy bodies, too. I know the supermarkets in europe do fab cotton bloomers etc., like the la redoute/vertaboudet type things.
