I accidentally put suncream on my 3 month old without realising I wasn’t meant too I just thought it was best is this going too harm her sorry anxious first time mum

Strictly speaking they shouldn't be in direct sunlight so shouldn't need any and skin should be covered up. A baby suncream shouldn't hurt on skin that might be exposed

I put sun cream on my 6m I bought it because it said for baby’s and kids so I assumed it was for that purpose. Is there a reason why this is a concern?

I just saw you wasn’t meant too put it on babies under 6m due too chemicals and panicked

She was on the shade but some skin was a little exposed where sun kept changing places so I just did it as a precaution but saw your not meant too use under 6 months

I was too but I was told due too chemicals or allergic reactions

Don’t worry, it’s fine as a one off, especially if she hasn’t had a reaction. Just wash it off in the bath. It’s because babies’ skin is a large percentage of their body, and therefore a lot of chemicals can be potentially absorbed through the skin. But this would be an issue if you were regularly applying sun cream. As a one off, it’s fine.

Don't worry. Sunscreen says over 6 month but I applied earlier too when we were on a holiday.
