Co-parenting and stability advice

Hi,

I'm looking for some advice on whether it's unstable for a 3-year-old to swap overnights with each parent as follows (we both work, I have fridays off with her)

Mon night - mum overnight
Tues - dad overnight
Weds - mum overnight
Thurs - dad overnight
Fri - week 1 mum/ week 2 dad (day time mum)
Sat - week 1 dad/ week 2 mum
sun - mum overnight

Is this schedule too disruptive? I'm just worried about attachment, stability etc.

Just looking for some advice.

Thank you

This is how we had done it for years and children have been settled and happy:

mon/tues nights - ex partner
weds/thurs nights - me
fri/sat/sun nights - we alternate

Recently 17yo decided to try alternate weeks which is working well

the issue with too much chopping and changing is that it can feel disruptive

what works for my children might not work for yours though- we live walking distance apart and get on well which undoubtedly makes it easier

Hi,

Thank you! Can I ask, when you say you alternate fri/sat/sun nights, how do you do this? One parent does all 3 one week, and the other parent the next week?

Thank you!
