How to advocate for my child

Hi i have a 4 year old DD and personally i have always struggled to use my voice to stand up for myself. How do i raise my daughter not to be like that? There have been situations where when there is conflict, I find myself not saying anything in front of my DD and highly regretting it afterwards. I would know it's not right but somehow the words don't come out. These are things that have put her in danger, but things like for example, older kids cutting the queues at the playground. There have been times where I would say - wait, it's her turn, to the other child but may times I don't... How do I teach myself to say something, any practical tips as I always find myself tongue tied in that moment itself?

I think that most of the books in this blog are a bit too old but it sounds like a good place to start.

Have you thought of going on an assertiveness course for yourself so that you can model to her?

Thanks @BunnyRuddington , I haven't heard of an assertiveness course. Thank you, I will find that. I have read that modelling is the best way for children children learn so will find out more.
