Please help me if you can!
I have been tasked with finding a birthday gift for a family member's birthday this weekend, the brief from his Mum is he loved trains, cars, balls, monster trucks and it starting to like books.
He is a 2 year old (coming up this weekend) little boy.
I have zero idea on what is out there for little ones of this age that fits that brief, can any one help at all?!
Thanks! 🙏🏻

This was my sons favourite thing - Thomas & Friends Fisher-Price My First Thomas & Friends R/C Thomas, battery-powered remote-controlled train engine with character phrases for toddlers, GPV86

Or the wow toys children love ( look on Amazon) all mine enjoyed playing with them

The duplo train is good.

Does he have or is he getting a wooden railway (like Brio, but there are lots of brands)? If he does/is, then you can get more bits for it – it's one of those gifts it's great to add to. If he isn't, depending on budget, you could get a starter set. IKEA and BigJigs do some good value ones.

Magnatiles!!

Amazon do a more affordable knock off version

A ball pit? Or a tent with balls inside. My niece got hours of play in hers.

Another vote for magnetic tiles. Both of mine gave loved them - DS builds lots of stations for his trains or garages for his cars out of them.

I have a 2.5 year old DS and these are his current favourites

Book - There's a Dragon in Your Book Board Book by Tom Fletcher. So nice and interactive. I would recommend a board book version if you can find one. It allows a 2 year old to turn the pages easily.

Dino Car Track - Jurassic Park Dinosaur Super Loop Race Track Set. It is such good value and he plays with it everyday. Minus the loops (which I binned because I found them cumbersome for the cars to do) the track can then be easily rolled up for storage and so a big plus from me.

Balance Beam Set - Play Factory Balance Beam Set. Once again, they stack so great for storage. The beams are a bit hard for him at his current age, unless you hold his hands but he loves doing the stepping stones. We spend 30 minutes doing the stepping stones repeatedly everyday and he tells me I'm doing a good job 😂

All are available on smyths and I have copied the titles directly from the website.

I could probably bin every other toy in the house, with the exception of his play kitchen and toy stroller, and he probably wouldn't notice too much. They are the only things he plays with, without us having to prompt him.
