3 year old constantly undoing joggers

Hi everyone my 3 year old ds is constantly undoing the ties on his joggers. He is very tall so he's in a size up so they are loose around his waist they fit if I tie his ties together and knot them but he undoes them straight away! It's infuriating as his joggers keep falling down. I keep having to put him in jeans as they have the button bit inside to tighten them around his waist but when we go to soft play/nursery it's better he wear his joggers but he's obsessed with undoing them. He doesn't have many words yet so I cant even ask him why he's doing it. Ive not tied them tight or anything just enough that they don't fall down. Any advice of what to do from mum's who have also gone through this. I've triple knotted them and he's still been able to undo them. Tia. X

Can you put them on backwards so the ties are at the back?

a different style of jogger or leggings? I see lots of toddler boys in leggings these days because they’re easier if a child is tall but slim

Can you take the ties out and stitch some more elastic on the inside of the waistband to make them tighter fitting but still easy to pull up and down?

My daughter needs joggers tied too. She only wears them for school as that is the uniform. Adjustable waists are great in jeans or chinos but for active days leggings usually fit just fine round the waist. I see toddler boys wearing plain dark leggings fairly regularly now.

I'm not very good at stitching/sewing but I'll look into this thankyou x

Leggings work much better for tall slim children. Lots of shops sell them in gender neutral colours and designs that would be fine for boys. The Scandi brands are particularly good for fitting tall slim kids. H&M at the cheaper end and Lindex in the middle and pricey Polarn o Pyret.
