Could this be chicken pox?

Our DD (26 months) was vaccinated last year, but this morning we noticed raised pimples on her bottom. No more than 10, and they've not worsened throughout the day, and she's totally fine in herself. They only appear on her bottom.

We have a 9 day old baby and I'm absolutely freaking out.

For those more clued up than me, could this be chicken pox?

We did take her swimming yesterday and my DH has admitted he didn't dry her particularly well. I'm hoping and praying it's as a result of that...

We will get an opinion from our pharmacist tomorrow. Posting to try and give myself some reassurance/clarity tonight :-( I know it's probably a wait and see situation...

What is worrying you about it? Not being goady just wondering if you can be reassured. It doesn’t sound like it from your pictures. It usually starts with small fluid filled vesicles. It is in the vast majority of children a slightly unpleasant but mild illness. Your baby is likely to still have your antibodies so will have good immunity.

Thanks for the reply :-) I'm worried about our newborn getting seriously unwell. Then, to a lesser degree, also having to manage our toddler at home if they can't be at nursery.

Very much back in the trenches of sleeplessness and I'm probably more being more sensitive than I would usually be!

Looks more like folliculitis to me.
