Don't worry! Shit, as they say, happens!!

beansprout · 13/05/2008 14:29

Hey, how does that make you crap? YANBU to expect poo to be in a nappy!!

ShowOfHands · 13/05/2008 14:31

This does not make you crap.

My dd ate a worm today. Well, half a worm. She was torturing the other half with a stick. Apparently a worm is 'yum yum'.

No need to feel bad, things will get worse The day you leave one of your children locked in the car for a full 10 minutes before you realise then we will talk about shocking parenting

In my defence i had 5 to unload and he was hiding behind the seats at the back.

Smithagain · 13/05/2008 20:03

Could be worse. I continued to take my 2.5 yo round the supermarket the other day, in full knowledge that she had filled her nappy two minutes after we arrived. Thought I'd be able to get away with grabbing the last few things before she really needed a change.

Got to the till, glanced down and realised that the poo was creeping out around the edge of her nappy and in full view to anyone who looked at her properly.

Persuaded her to sit very, very still while I paid.

And then realised I'd left all the wipes at home, so I had to take her home to change anyway.

Was truly revolting by the time we got home. But she lived to tell the tale

Eve34 · 13/05/2008 20:21

I took my little man shopping once and thought oh he smells....will wait till I get home, got back and undressed him to discover that he had no nappy on at all.....

Smithagain · 13/05/2008 20:43

LOL Eve - you win the prize!

Eve34 · 15/05/2008 18:22

In my defence I had been on my own 6 weeks with DP working away with about 4 hours of sleep each night and I had started a new job too, so it was a bit of a stressful time, but wasn't funny I can tell you.

claireybee · 15/05/2008 18:25

At least you thought to try changing him, I'd probably have gone out for the walk thinking he'd calm down as we got going

lackaDAISYcal · 15/05/2008 18:28

Oh, you're not alone; I wheeled DD around the supermarket on Saturday with her screaming and trying to stand up in the seat. I thought she was just bored, but when I got her home she had a very stinky nappy, and her poor wee bum was red raw

She also regularly gets to the cat food before I can get it off the floor. She was eating some the other day, and I thought it was strange as the bowl was on the worktop.........my cat regularly throws up though, but I'm not even going to think about that

LOL at forgetting the nappy, and at the worms

ComeOVeneer · 15/05/2008 18:39

Think you are a bad mum? What about the couple who got on a plane and left there 23 month old baby in the airport, not realising until they were contacted!

lackaDAISYcal · 15/05/2008 20:08

i heard about that COV......how on earth is that possible? the story said they were in a rush for the connecting plane, but still......

CrackerOfNuts · 15/05/2008 20:10

No way COV, really ?? How on earth would someone do that ?

Charmander · 15/05/2008 20:11

I spun my son round on the roundabout on Sunday so much that he was sick. I am clearly a bad mother.

SmugColditz · 15/05/2008 20:11

God, is that all?

colander · 15/05/2008 20:19

I'm always doing that to DD2 - her poos don't always stink so how am I supposed to know???

Sprogstersmum · 15/05/2008 20:44

The first time I took DD out when she was only a few weeks old she was screaming for milk - I'd expressed a bottle having only breastfed her till then and tried to feed her sitting on a bench on a main road - hadn't screwed lid of bottle on properly so tipped the whole lot over so and then had to run home literally (only 3 weeks after C-section) cos she was now soaked and still hungry and at that stage I was too shy to breastfeed her on a main road. Felt awful but the minute I got through the front door and fed her she was fine!

blurryeyed · 18/05/2008 12:54

Went out shopping for a pair of jeans that weren't maternity when DD was 6 weeks old, lovely day strolling around till she started grizzling for a change and a feed (on formula by now), only to discover feed still in bottle in fridge at home. 15 mins drive home with screaming starving child... Kinda took the glory out of the new jeans

wurlywoo · 18/05/2008 13:24

Oh bless! This was me yesterday! I went to take my dp's cashcard got my 18 wk old dd out of the car, she hadn't been to sleep much yesterday and was grizzly as I got her out of the car, what I failed to realise was she had done a big big poo! Poor love, then that turned into crying fit and wasnt till i picked her up I realised, I just assumed it was tiredness!

Glad I am not alone! parenting is the hardest job in the world you know!

Lol at you blurryeyed, you will never be able to buy a pair of jeans again!
