School shoes for reception

We got Clark’s as a first pair, but keen to buy cheaper for the new ones as it looks like we’ll be outgrowing and replacing frequently!

We prefer more of an athletic type of shoe rather than a proper school shoe, and must be black. The adidas tensaurs seem to come up a lot but meh!

Any recommendations? Thank you :)

From reading the title I was going to suggest adidas tensaur 😂

Start-rite clearance and keep an eye out of Clarks sales. I got my daughter two pairs of shoes in her next two sizes at Christmas for £16 each! She's already moved into the first pair.
She had a pair of kickers first but they ran small and she outgrew them when still fitting in all the other shoes of that size. We got them in a sale for £15ish

The trainer-ish ones from Shoe Zone have done an amazing job for my 18yo, he's been wearing them for years and they usually last a couple of terms before he outgrew or wrecked them.

I found the Clarks ones fell apart quite quickly. I tended to just order from Next or get from one of the big supermarkets. A black Velcro trainer style.

The ones that have lasted us the longest.. Oct to now are Asda ones. He initially had clarks ones but he wrecked them within the first half term.
He does also have the addidas ones for PE which are still.going strong

M&S have some slighty more trainer-style school shoes which last much better than Clarks. Not sure they're that much cheaper though unless you get them in the sale.

We always had Clarkes for DD but DS had very rapidly growing feet (and everything else) so I used to buy his from Sainsburys

I've always found m&s shoes excellent value. Not the cheapest, but really good quality. Always grown out rather than worn out.

There’s an online company called BGreater and I’ve found their trainer style school shoes fantastic

We have been through many different things and have ended up with a pair of sketchers that have lasted better than most.
