hi everyone !! im taking my 10mo daughter to a hydrotherapy pool as they do warm baby swims ! the pool is 35⁰c so im wondering what to dress her in ?

we have the duo happy nappy as we were going to start swim lessons but i cancelled bc a 30 minute lesson on top of an almost (£20+) 2 hour public transport journey was not worth me paying £75 monthly😭😭😭 tia !!!

35 degrees is a few degrees warmer than the pool I have been taking my DD to since around 9 months. The babies wear anything from just the happy nappy on top of a disposable swim nappy to all types of swimsuit or wetsuit. Unless they really feel the cold any type of swimsuit should be fine eg if you already have one for holidays just use that.

The happy nappy will be fine for the pool at that temp. Just bring a fluffy towel to wrap them in while you get dressed to keep the temp up, and you'll be fine. Enjoy your first swim!

imo doing swimming lessons before the age of 4 is not needed. Lots of water play and having fun in the water, splashing and putting face in with on googles etc, but all fun stuff.

Then later do swimming lessons at 4/5 years old

Ask the pool staff. Pools around here only allow certain baby swimwear

honestly i only wanted to take her as im no longer a strong swimmer but £75 wasnt worth it at all. i understand why its so expensive but £19 for 30 minutes seems a bit crazy when you really think about it :/

There are definitely cheaper classes around. The ones we do at a leisure centre work out about £10 per class. I only do the classes as the time suits us (I want to go on the morning of my day off work and the pool is closed for the lessons) and the pool is a bit quieter than the free swim sessions. Otherwise it’s mostly a baby/toddler class in the water.,

Just the Duo Happy Nappy if it's 35 degrees. If you go to a normal kids pool they are around 30-32 degrees; you'd need a wetsuit type thing on top then.

My 3yo DD has been having weekly lessons since 3mo, can now swim unaided and is working towards her swim England level 2 at present.

Thats great, but imo its not needed and puts a lot of expense on parents and pressure which is not needed.

My dc didn't swim until she was 6 but by the time she was 11 was competing in a swimming squad. Learning to swim at a later age didn't hold her back. Her sister learn to swim at 4 and is now a terrible swimmer in comparison to her sister who learnt 2 years later
