Hi lovelies
Any idea how to fix what’s going on? 😂
My twins are 6 weeks today!
My boy sleeps the night well . Wakes up for his bottle and straight back to sleep
My girl was doing the same until 3 days ago where after her bottle around 2/3am she’ll stay awake… until morning! Till the 6/7am bottle🥹🥹
She is not up to cry but she is up just wide awake. She wants to be held. I’ve tried my hardest to put her to back to sleep but she is just not having it. I put her in the sling and started cleaning the kitchen at 5am just because I had enough of sitting in bed trying to get her to sleep! If I put her down she moans and moans and wants to be held and see what’s going on around. I’ve kept the lights down low and no noise etc. but Meaning.. no sleep for me 😀 She does sleep a lot during the day, More than her brother, but keeping her awake after feeds is impossible she is so sleepy.. pleaseeeee tell me this is just a short phase

Sounds like day night confusion - it's pretty common. Try to get her outside in daylight, especially early morning daylight. She needs to develop a circadian rhythm

Devilsmommy · 13/03/2025 12:11

Could she possibly still be hungry?

Thanks. It’s so hard to get out the house with them both. Will be by a bright open window work? I’ve had the curtains and windows open since 6 this morning when she woke up for that bottle. She’s slept so much since 6am now. So hard to keep her awake!

Hmmm I don’t think so! She cries more when I put her down as she wants my attention and to be held. During the day she’s fine to chill/ sleep by herself. It is just like she is wide awake! I wouldn’t say hungry. Maybe tonight I’ll bring the next feed slightly forward to see if she is still hungry and will settle quicker.

If she isn’t crying and is just awake why do you need to do anything?

When I put her down she starts to fuss until she ends up crying really. Like she wants my attention and to be held. I meant she isn’t up non stop crying like colic or like she’s hungry. I can’t fall asleep holding her

Does she have a dummy? If not, I'd consider introducing one.

Have you tried not picking her up but patting/shushing her just to let her know that you're still there?

You could also try comforting her and then putting her down again. It'll take a while and it's tiring but should eventually work.

SurpriseTwinPregnancy · 13/03/2025 13:19

Congrats on your twins, OP! Mine are eight weeks old so very similar stage to you.

Have you tried white noise and a dummy? If she is fed and changed, I would try popping her back down with both of those to see if she can drift off on her own. If she fusses a bit I would leave her, if she’s properly crying I would give a cuddle but put back down after a few minutes. One of my twins cries on/off for a few mins before falling asleep.

The other thing to consider is whether she’s warm enough?

She hates her dummy. She gags when I put it in 🥲
I’ll try tonight to leave her down but I don’t think will work! Also don’t want her to wake her twin brother because then I’ll have two crying babies!

Her brother will get used to the noises she makes, I promise. My twins are 11 months and they couldn’t be more different, one of my girls is sooo loud and shouty but my other girl isn’t as much and it just doesn’t phase her.

Have you tried different brands? Might be worth persevering if you can get her to take one.
