My 10 month old has FINALLY been prescribed milk after arguing back n forth with doctors as I am convinced shes got a CMPA …. Just tried to give her her first bottle of it & Low and behold she is refusing the milk completely, borking at the taste, piercing her mouth shut & turning her head?! Honestly just feel like there is constantly a hurdle every time I get somewhere 😣🥲 .. Please please any tips?!?!

Honestly, it's unusual to be able to persuade a baby to take to hydrolysed formula once they've tasted actual food. You could try gradual introduction, by making bottles part ordinary formula, part hydrolysed, or you could try adding vanilla essence. But not optimistic.

@nocoolnamesleft someone else just said about vanilla extract! Is that just like the watery flavouring you put in cakes etc?? How many drops should I use?? & i know i thought that im fuming theyve had me wait this long

Yeah, same stuff as the cake flavouring. Though ideally the alcohol free version. Start with a couple of drops.

Check the ingredients obviously but I had to put nesquik in formula to make my dc drink it, not a full amount you'd have as an adult proportion wise as it has sugar but i suspect the ingredients may have changed since mine were tiny

My baby is 10 months old to and we are half way through a four week trial on pepti which is also disgusting. I used vanilla extract (alcohol free) snd she takes it although not as much as her old
formula. But at 10 months she’s only on three bottles and eats well so im not too concerned. Just use vitamins if it drops below the recommend amount (can’t remember what that is exactly!).

How upsetting for you, after all you’ve been through. Is she eating well? If so, then that’s one less thing to worry about. The good news is, food is now taking over from milk as her main nutrient.

It’s possible that no matter what you try, she will refuse to take this milk. A ten month old can be very stubborn.

Concentrate instead on giving her a good varied diet, with plenty of water to drink. Don’t despair, she’s going to be fine.
