Toddler travel sick

Does anyone have any experience of a 20 month old getting car sick. Even on short journeys. I thought travel sickness didn’t start until much older but doesn’t seem to be the case. There doesn’t seem to be any rhyme or reason. Can be after a meal or before. After sleeping or not tired. Would be grateful for any tips.

Mine started getting car sick at 9 months and still is now at 2.5 years. Other than travelling at nap time we haven’t found any way to stop it. We reduced car trips a lot and I still sit in the back and try to catch the vomit in a bag or bowl. A cool car and not too many clothes helps a bit.

Nine months! That’s young. I think a bowl in the car might be the way forward.

We have the same problem. Started at 10 months - She’s 5 now. She can take travel sickness tablets now but that’s very hit and miss and we only use it for long journeys. She can even vomit on the 7min journey to school 😭.

we always travel with a bowl, a towel draped over her, spare clothes.l, wet wipes etc.

it’s caused so much stress and car cleaning. We have bought a car seat that has a fully removable cover which has been a life saver.

it has gotten easier since she can use a bowl!
