I have a 2 year old daughter and have worked part time up until now. I have just secured a new role in a school which means working 5 days per week but having all of the school/nursery holidays off. I feel so unbelievably guilty about returning to work 5 days. Is wrong for me to do this? Is she too young?

Of course not. It will be fabulous that you are free for the holidays!

sounds ideal to me. It effectively is part time but just your non working days concentrated as opposed to having one a week! Perhaps will help you if you think about it like that. Amazing x

No, it’s the perfect time to go back to work. It’s actually much trickier when they are in school. I’d make the most of the full days of nursery, no homework, no sports and after school activities to run around to, to build up your financial security and get your feet back in the game. Hopefully it means you have more built in flexibility later on when you may need it.

Surely you know people who manage very different patterns of work, who don't get school/nursery holidays off, and who parent their children????
