im over reacting

i have little to no memory for when i was a child. my brother is the same. we dont know why.
my parents always said my gran was very harsh on us.
anyway. thats always been in the back of my mind.
my 4 year old daughter just said something thats made me stop and think OMG.
shes wearing a long sleeved tee shirt and a pair of knickers. we both have covid. very few symptons thankfully. so we are isolating. ive spent a lot more time 1 2 1 with her which is lovely.
i was tickling her while we were just messing about. then she asks me to tickle her bottom and moves her knickers to the side.
this has sent some serious red flags up with me.
shes my first girl. i have 2 much older boys.
am i over reacting that something has happened. i asked her if anyone else has done that she said strangely no they havent,
now my girl isnt at nursery or anything. shes been home with me her entire life.
shes only alone with me or my father. my boys arent alone with her ever really. for no reason other than it hasnt really happened.

am i over reacting to a silly thing. its literally just happened. i dont know what to think right now

Ring the NSPCC for advice.

You are not over-reacting. It would be a very strange thing for a child to suddenly make up. Talking to NSPCC as someone suggested is a good idea.

That would have sent chills down my spine if it were my daughter. Definitely seek some advice, don't talk to her about it but I wouldn't leave her with your father alone.

ill call the NSPCC and get some advice. thank you.

it has sent chills down my spine. i have a tendancy to over react so i presume i am until im not.
i had a clasic over reaction when she had her 3 month check. a locum gp did it. he ran his finger inside her vagina. i removed her from the clinic and questioned it. i was told its a normal stage. i just havnt heard of it before. but this is my first baby ive had in the uk> so its new to me

thank you

Never heard of a GP doing this. I have 3 children, 2 of whom are girls.

A GP in the uk put his finger into a 3 month old baby’s vagina and you were told it’s normal?

feathermucker · 05/03/2025 17:53

It is absolutely NOT normal for a GP to do this.

Dolambslikemintsauce · 05/03/2025 17:59

3 x dd's here... I hope you pushed for an explanation... That's horrific...

NinaNina83 · 05/03/2025 18:02

The gp did what?! You need to report it I'm afraid...
