Baby book recommendations

Hi there

plwase can people give some baby book recommendations that are suitable for different ages. I have a 6 month old and want to get a selection that are good for relevant ages for the next couple of years. We have quite a few of those “that’s not my…” books which are good now but just wondering what age they are suitable until?

thanks!

Go to your local charity shop, they vary in price but the one I volunteer at charges 49p for picture books. I recommend the Julia Donaldson ones in particular

Get anything with flaps/sliders. My 3YO still loves 'dear zoo' 'where does pig live' 'spot the dog' type books.

I think the "That's not my..." books can last a while as often they will want something less challenging if they are feeling unwell. So maybe about 3?

Each Peach, Pear, Plum is a nice book.

Hug is a nice book and should last a while.

I think the best thing you can do though is to get them a library card and get them used to going to the library Wink

DS adores the 'Tales from Acorn Wood' series. The have 'lift the flap' parts on most pages and beautiful illustrations. He's only 7 months and I think (hope) he'll still be interested as he gets older.. at the moment it's lifting the flap that's interesting but hoping the story will become interesting to him over time. I recommend those anyway 😊
