Ive noticed a lot of people on here have questions about early years courses.

So how many of us are there? and what levels are we working towards?

Maybe we should start a thread and pool our knowledge (especially about piaget I hate that man!)

I am currently working towards a level 4 and (if I pass touch wood!) will start level 5 next year.

Just being nosey really

Starting Foundation degree in September - or was until I was told today that the fees will no longer be paid for new students. In fact they said that fees cannot be guaranteed to be paid for first years either. So I am at a loss what to do, the part time option is just waaaay too long for me, I want to be qualified by the time my baby starts school.

Judge Nutmeg, I think I am your stalker. I live near you and am starting the same course Don't be worried, I don't have time to stalk in RL!

TC can you not apply to your LEA For transformation funding? I would never have been able to afford to do my FD but had the whole lot paid for through the transformation fund and also got a £1500 bursary for books etc.

Might be worth looking into?

Cathy Nutbrown is good for curriculum stuff. If you still need a hand Ican have a look for you? I can't remember which Nutbrown book it is but like I say, give us a shout and I'll invesstigate further for you. Not sure about theories, but you will probably find some once you have written the +ves and -ves

well I did do it but some how a 1500 word assignment turned in to a 1000 word rant against the SATS and i some how have to fit in the evaluation of the activity I did and another lesson I had to plan for a diffrent age range and describe how the national curriculum and talk about diffrent methods of teaching and the value of ICT and science in the national curriculum.

I just dont have enough words!

That would have been really good but I dont think I have enough time to get any books its due in on Monday I might google it. Do you think that would work?

Worth a try, although I find google books a bit difficult to read from. Worth having a look though.

dylanthecat · 16/05/2008 23:13

Thanks for the tip though! If id kept my ppd file up todate I wouldnt have had to spend all my time faking it and I could have had this done. So Im definetly going to do it properly next year!

Tippychick!

I just had a moment to catch up on my threads and saw your message....stalk away. If you do manage to get funding sorted I'd be happy to chat/meet up anytime - I'm loving my course when I'm not actually hating it.

I have just heard the 'probably' my second year will be funded. I wish that I'd known that there was going to be ambiguity regarding the course fees at the start because I possibly would have just paid for myself and done a slightly different course. That said, I have finished the main essays for this years now, just have work-based-learning left to do over the summer and have had a brill academic year.

Hope you see this.
