Parents with toddlers - how often do you use soap to wash their hands?!

I typically wash my LOs hands once a day with soap, otherwise I use a wipe or a wet cloth (unless obviously they need a proper clean). Then every other day they have a bath.

When your toddlers are out and about, what do you use to clean their hands? I feel like antibacterial wipes or gel would be too harsh?

Is once a day enough to use soap? And do you use baby soap or just regular soap?

Sorry its a boring post! Appreciate any replies. Thanks.

My 3yo uses regular hand soap several times a day, and I’d help her wash hands if out an about if there was a loo. We have some hand sanitizer spray that we use sometimes.

10 month old, I probably wash her hands with regular soap 2-3 times a day also.

I assume you mean young toddler not potty trained because when they’re using the loo the issue kind of takes care of itself? I would always wash hands before eating and also just whenever they look like need it really! If we’re out and not near a bathroom then I use a wet wipe to remove any visible dirt and then a squirt of hand sanitizer. You can get kid friendly ones if you’re worried about them being harsh on her skin.

@InTheRainOnATrain yes sorry, not yet potty trained! Otherwise I'd be doing it everytime they go!

Thanks I'll look at the kid friendly ones I didn't realise they existed!!!

Now that he's 3 he washes them himself after he toilet and before meals.

When he was younger I'd help him wash hands before eating, and after meals at home I gave him a warm cloth wrung out just to wipe his sticky hands and face. Out and about I just used water wipes if need be.
