DS keep saying a boy in his class is bossy

DS is 6 year old and has a friend he plays with. There’s also another boy in his class who is also obsessed with the same boy he plays with. He is quite territorial over him.

On a daily basis my son comes home and tells me things this boy says to him and how he is bossy. (Another mum friend once commented on him being bossy as I’m assuming her son has come home and told her the same thing).

just things like he pulls faces at him, says he’s better and lies about achievements if someone has done well so it’s looks like he’s done better etc. eg someone got 9/10 and he would say well I got 10/10.

How do I deal with this and what do I say to my son when he says this? I want him to not let it bother him? Be more assertive and confident?

It’s a class of 16 with only 6 boys so can’t tell him to play with others.

Tell him to avoid the kid

He wants to play with the child my child is best friends with. Plus how can avoid in a classroom? It’s also a tiny school.

A large part of social skills is learning to handle being around a range of people.
A 6 year old bragging and sticking their tongue out isnt uncommon, and behaviour he would be around in any school.
Tell him to ignore it and not react back and the kid will probably get bored of it as he's doing it for attention/a reaction.

Why on earth are you so invested in this?

Just say ah really, and move on

In an ideal world the teacher would be a bit more in control of the environment and help the kids learn to interact nicely and protect the normal kids. However based on experience the teacher will claim she has never seen the behavior your son is talking about and the situation will get worse. Your best bet is to make connections with other mothers so if you need to talk to the teacher you have backup
