Inconsistent fathe?

Hi everyone, I’m new to all this but I came here for support because I have no idea what to do or where to turn. I am a mum to a 13 month old little boy. Both me and my child’s father have parental responsibility. (No court involvements as of yet). Myself and my son’s father split up two days after our son was born due to a domestic incident which resulted in him being removed from my home by the police. Since the start of our son’s life he has been inconsistent and when he has been around our son he doesn’t do anything for him. Wouldn’t change our sons nappy, wouldn’t feed him, wouldn’t give him a bottle, refused to provide anything for him despite earning 5x the amount I do a month. He has not seen our son for 5 months now and has missed every single doctor, dentist and hospital appointment our son has had so far. He arranges to see our son then either doesn’t turn up or cancels last minute but continues to harass me and threaten to take me to court. It’s all becoming to much stress now and I don’t know here to turn.

Are you claiming child maintenance? That would be the first place I'd start tbh.
And make sure you record all the times he promises to come and see his child and doesn't come, or refuses to change nappies etc.

Claim child maintance.
Only contact him through a co parenting app.
There was a poster on MN who said whenever her ex said thing like he was taking her to court she would reply ‘Ok. Let me know how it goes.”

@Squeakpopcorn I have considered child maintenance however when I have mentioned it to him in the past, it has been met with a lot of nastiness and threats :(

Block all contact with him. Go through the CMS only. This is money that you need to raise your son and give him opportunities. There are co-parent apps that you can talk on I understand which are monitored presumably for abuse.
