dd is dry nearly every night but I'm nervous about ditching the pull ups as I can't stand the thought of wee in the matress.
I should have done this ages ago.
Any recommendations or words of wisdom?

The White Company do some good (but pricey) ones, i think.

John Lewis do a towelling waterproof one. It is great, not plasticy and works. Not cheep but worth it

PellMell · 09/05/2008 20:04

o.k, so they do exist
thanks

I bought an awfulsingle sheet from tesco today. When I took it out of the packet and realised it was just a sheet of plastic I couldn't bring myself to put it on....

imagine the feeling (like hospital beds)

I can confirm that the Tesco ones are absolutely vile, it's like sleeping on clingfilm and you wake up sticky and it's just ... uuuurgh.

Can't afford a lush White Company one right now ...

Our mattress is buggered anyway, tempted to pee on it myself to justify a replacement

Hippychick ones are fab

Astrophe · 09/05/2008 20:13

I second the hippychick ones - fab.

Soapsy · 09/05/2008 21:13

Just looked at the first review of the hippychick sheet - it is described as having a 'flattering fit'. How does a sheet have a flattering fit, for goodness sake? Is my bed going to suddenly look all skinny on me?

CatWithKittens · 09/05/2008 21:45

You do not really need a fitted one in my experience. We use a Mothercare single bed waterproof sheet fitted across our King size bed at a strategic height for invading children since DD1 has a habit of coming in in the middle of the night as,though it has not happened yet, we rather fear a leaky nappy. The sheet is some sort of waterproof material on one side with a thin layer of a terry like material on the other and is not uncomfortable to sleep on if put under the ordinary sheet. We also have them on the older 2 DCs beds just in case of leaky nappies though, if I take enough care about tucking the nappy in under the pants, we do not have a problem.

go to the adult incontince products. they are nto so bad

Astrophe · 09/05/2008 21:49

don't know about the 'flattering fit'...odd . But they are good. I'd say don't get a double - maybe a full sixed single, and lay it width ways accross the top half of your bed? (Unless little one is likely to burrow down to your feet and wee there?)

hippy chick flat sheets, various sizes here...that what I was on about. Get the single.
