Reading other forums, I feel like we have missed the times or something. He hates to sit down on the potty and I end up letting him go since he fights back and screams. Got 4 different potties but none appeal. I am hoping to send him to nursery in 2 months times but wanted him to badly know to say potty.
By now, he can count, say his ABCD, colors, animals and takes some orders but these thing is frustrating me and my wife. Any clues please?

Not all kids are ready to potty train at that age. Don't make it into a battle or you will put him off the potty in the long run. Nurseries are very used to 2 and 3 year olds still in nappies.

I would also, when you do train him, use rewards as much as possible, e.g. chocolate buttons for a wee in the potty etc. Don't let it become a negative thing.

2.5 is a normal age for it, don’t worry about that. Theres a reason people dread potty training - it’s stressful!

For my parenting style, if he’s distressed and really not into it I would leave it a couple of months and then come back to it and keep everything completely positive and exciting. In a few months his communication and understanding will be better and that might be all he needs to crack it.

Also, nurseries are magic at this sort of thing and you might find they do the lion’s share of it if he goes a few days in a row.

I’ve trained all of mine loosely following Oh Crap method (bullet points, I didn’t read the book!)

2.5 is a normal age for potty training. You just need to crack on and clear your calendar completely for a week to focus on it. Put him in pants, pump him full on fluids, if you’re normally plain water now is the time for juice and squash, set a timer every 45 minutes to try, have him sit for 5 minutes and if you need to put the TV on or let him play a game on your phone then that’s fine, eventually you’ll catch something then it’s lots of praise and a small sweet like a smartie. Accidents get an oh dear wee goes in the potty and he should help clean up as is age appropriate e.g. put his wet pants in the machine. Days 1-2 will be messy but usually it starts to click by day 3 and then you gradually increase the interval that you take them until you’re just reminding if it’s approaching the 2 hour mark and/or are about to leave the house. That’s what we did for our 2 anyway and it worked!
