Is P20 suncream suitable for 16 mo who can be sensitive to suncreams in general??

DD tends to get excema type reactions to baby/kid friendly suncreams and I know that P20 lasts for 10 hours which is appealing but I don't want to pay a load of money for it if there's a likely chance she'll react to it.

Has anyone else used this on their sensitive little ones??

I would say 20 spf is not enough especially as she's only 16 months.

Needs to be about 40/50+

You can get mineral ones which don't have harsh chemicals in - do you have a health shop near you as thats probably the best place to head for and see the range they have there.

I tried it years ago on my then 8 year old who wouldn't sit still to have cream applied every hour. I liked the idea of applying once in the morning and not having to worry.

Didn't work. He burnt his shoulders within the first two hours.

I think little ones really need more of a block than and filter cream. The stuff that looks white IYSWIM

I got terrible heat rash with p20 - i think it can block pores. Wouldn't recommend for alittle one.

I actually have a sun allergy (which given I am from Sydney is a royal pain in the arse!).

This stuff not only takes care of that it gets rid of any rashes or redness or anything like that, is SPF50+ and comes in a kiddy version.

Very expensive but absolute gold.

P20 allows through UVA which is now known to cause skin cancer.

So you don't burn but do increace your chances of cancer - because the UVB protection avoids the normal burn you may even stay out longer which will in turn increace you UVA exposure.

Doubly bad new.

P20 has bee n withdrawn from sale in several major pharmacy outlets in Ireland now because it does not meet the recommended min standard for a screen.

Should add that I used to swear by this stuff but given this new info this stuff looks positively dangerous for kids.

They have this in costco at the moment but we didn't need to get any as ILs bought us back some fab factor 70 Aveeno spray fro the states last week!

DS was covered in it and is not burnt - DH said he wasn't hot and wouldn't bother and is lobsterfied! Ha Ha - DS told him off big stylie!

P20 is dreadful stuff - as someone said it doesn't block out all the harmful rays, it made dd's skin sting like mad (she does not have sensitive skin) and it smells like embalming fluid.

DS has eczema and we use E45 SPF30, he seems to be fine with it although he does look like a ghost once it's on!

I use Bergaderm for all of us. It lasts 6hrs, I think, and is water and towel-proof. It comes in a sensitive version and is very easy to put on as it's a mousse.

Oooh, I like the idea of the mousse! I've used the Boots Once stuff for when my daughter is at school, but it goes on like cement

I think the P20 formula has actually been changed and now has UVA and UVB filters but I dont think its rated that well as an effective sun cream.
