How bulky are Fluffles?

Moorhen · 08/05/2008 10:01

Only put DS into cloth three weeks ago, using wam bamboos and wonderoos. Love both, but don't have tumble drier or outside drying and wambamboos take DAYS!

Would like something faster drying and heard Fluffles were the business. Are they incredibly bulky? Or is there something else nice and soft and fast-drying - but not too big - that I should consider?

Thanks!

they r quite bulky alot bulkier than tots bamboozles but they are luvly and soft and do dry quick great for a night

My friend tried fluffles & said the same - they are much bulkier. She said that they made her little one hot & sweaty too, due to the thick synethetic material.

I am not a fan of man-made materials & use prefolds cos they are quick drying & breathable (100% cotton).

Fluffles are being discontinued by Tots Bots.

Discontinued? Interesting.

I tried prefolds before switching to shaped, but even with the runny-poo-fold DS managed to get through two wraps a day. Dunno if he just does the wrong kind of poo or what, but it was getting ridiculous!

Fluffles very big and bulky. I gave up on them

Moorhen · 08/05/2008 11:12

OK, so maybe not the choice for me. Any thoughts on a quick-drying alternative?

i'm using fluffles on dd at night - they are great but really quite bulky. she has to have the between-the-legs poppers undone on her sleep suit, but that dosen't matter at night!

MrsBadger · 08/05/2008 11:35

Bimbles and Bumbles are quicker than some because of the fold-out bit and the fact they're half fleece

Fluffles are pretty large

LittleMyDancing · 08/05/2008 11:39

Fluffles are quite bulky but they are the quickest to dry. We love them - DS just has to have vests one size up, but we haven't had any problems otherwise.

Anything made of bamboo takes AGES to dry, they're so absorbent that it takes ages to get all the water out again!

Why not have a look at the Flexitot - the nappy which tots bots are bringing out to replace fluffles? They must be replacing them for some reason...

Nappyzone · 08/05/2008 19:09

Yes the flexitot is good, i have been trialing on my son and have been very impressed combined with the new tots wraps as well. Quite slim especially compared to a fluffle and moderatly quick to dry though not as quick as pocket nappies. If your liking wonderoos and pockets are working you might try some others like bumgenius, fuzzi bunz or greenkids. I am finding on gorge days like today my pockets are turned round in 4 hrs.

Bambinex teddies are fast drying

BigBadMouse · 08/05/2008 21:23

I'd agree to try some more pocket nappies - if you have found some that suit then stick with them. If you want to try different types of pocket then I would recommend buying secind hand until you find those that suit your DS' shape.

Alternatively try bamboo terry squares they are soft, slim fitting and dry quickly. However, they are a PITA to get to hold their fold shape at times as they are slippery. If all esle fails you can cut them up and use them as fantastic inserts for your pocket nappies.

There is also the Little Kiwi 'Quick Flip' which folds out flat to dry. It is quite thin fitting too and many people like them as night nappies so they must be prety absorbant. I usually forget to mention that one but they are good and well worth a try.

Little Lamb make the thinnest fitting microfibre nappies IMO - Fluffles are defintely bulky!
