oh lord no
it's just in my imaginary life I have 3 gorgeous boys. In my real life and too old and too knackered for another one and very thankful to have 2 fragrant healthy ones

maybe some people have them on because they just don't get round to putting them away. I've never used ours when upstairs in bed but have it on downstairs but find it most useful for naps when I might be hoovering/putting washing out etc. DS is 8 months.

80smum LOL at the wires. My Mum (she was a 70smum) used to stretch the wire across the back street (between two rows of terraced houses) and nip over for a drink and chinwag with her mate.

Never bought one....just stick our head out of the Kitchen door at regular intervals..... He rarely wakes at night...

thanks everyone.

(thats an interesting name blackduck! wonder why you chose that ?)

anyway - still use ours on ds just turned 4 but for good rasons. due to medical history im worried about not being able to hear him if hes ill at night, or has a fit (risk of), or generally just cries/wakes, or goes to sleep crying. we moved into this house last april that has big extension on it, so i'm at the other end of house for few hrs til my bedtime, after ds goes to sleep.

dh seems to think that ds is too old for mointor now but i keep saying how can we hear if somethings wrong with him. plus were having a loft conversion atm so we'll be above ds room at night.

After about 4 weeks with ds and after about 2 days with dd - think they are dreadful items. Ours is only ever used now by babysitters or by us if we are away and in a hotel with the kids and want to dine on our own.
