Forward facing pushchair when baby is still little?

I've got a 3 month old in his big sister's travel system but the pushchair seat is all mouldy and rickety so we need to get something else for when he grows out of the bassinet, which I expect will be young like 4 months ish because he's big. I'm looking at pushchairs that only face forwards because if you want parent facing option you have to spend so much more, because those tend to be whole travel systems. We didn't forward face our older girl until she was about a year old though. Are little babies happy world-facing or is my baby gonna cry?

I've had our little one in a forward facing buggy since birth and she has been fine. We live in a small flat a few floors up so had to get the smallest, lightest one possible. She is happy looking around and seems comfortable in it.

I think it probably depends on the baby, my daughter is 9 months old now and doesn’t hate being forward facing occasionally but she doesn’t love it. It’s also better for their social and language development for them to be facing you as they can see your face, you can talk to them and they can watch your mouth as you talk etc.

It depends how often you use the pram really. If you’re only using the pram for 20 mins here and there then forward facing would be fine, but if like me you’re out walking for hours every day, wandering round the shops etc my baby wouldn’t be happy with that and I wouldn’t be happy with it either as it would be all the time not engaging with me/talking/babbling

Personally, I'd keep him parent facing. It's great for social and language development. I'd happily buy second hand if money was an issue. Actually, I'm happy to buy second hand even when money isn't an issue, but I appreciate many people differ on this!

Quinny Zapp can be parent facing or front facing and is a pushchair rather than travel system.

My DDs 15 now and they were new out when she was little so will be plenty on eBay but I think you can get them new still.

Ours too! Her gran always say why would you look at that big babboon (my DH hahaha) when you could look at the world around you 🤣🤣

It’s so much nicer when they are parent facing. You should absolutely be able to find some secondhand though. We had a Joie one (wasn’t a travel system) and sold it for about £50.

We got a second hand bugaboo bee6 which can parent face, worth having a look on marketplace! We got the all black one and it’s really nice!
