How to word this

My child has ebsa I was struggling to get them to school on time due to this. A member of staff at the school insisted they would come up and walk to school with them to make sure they were on time. I didn't really want this but wasn't given much of a choice. They said we would review it at a certain date only we haven't and they still keep coming (once a week) even though I now get my child to school on time and have done since they started back. How would you politely tell them they don't need to come anymore? I'm unsure why they are still coming as my child hasn't been late at all since starting back but they don't see to have any intentions of stopping.

I'd politely tell them exactly what you've told us.

I'm not sure there's another way?

Dear School,

Further to our conversations about DC'S difficulties in attending at school and the support of XSTAFFMEMBER in accompanying us to school, I am happy to report that the situation is now settled and DC is routinely on time and content to attend. For that reason XSTAFFMEMBER does not need to attend at LOCATION to support school attendance in future.

Many thanks

I'm pleased it's got easier for your DC

I think she knows I find it difficult to be upfront as when she said she was coming she didn't actually give me a choice she just told me it was happening. I was hoping when we reviewed I could say it's not necessary anymore but that hasn't happened.

Thank you that's a good message! I will send that in the morning and hope she doesn't turn up!

Firm but polite! Don't word it like there's negotiation.

I couldn't have another at home I think that will completely break me. I didn't even want DD at home (that sounds mean just that I wanted her in school) but felt I had no choice. The thought of LA wanting reports etc is horrible luckily they haven't asked for any with DD but with all the new laws coming in regarding HE (rumours so far I think) I would find that more stressful and I find it suffocating getting no time to myself. DS doesn't want alternative provisions he has no interest in attending a special school and won't even consider a DSP
