Nappies size 3 and beyond....

Hi

We have been using mamia size 1 and 2 nappies but daughter is now going into size 3.

Obviously she's on the move a bit more but I don't know if it's me I find the quality of the size 3s different? The sizing doesn't feel as good when securing them, they have leaked a couple times and there is a wet indicator on the front but it doesn't work like the size 1 and 2 the dye just runs!? 🤔

Anyone change at size 3 or recommend good alternatives?

Thanks!

We've used rascal and friends from tesco for two babies and never had an issue. They seem soft and comfy and don't have a weird smell.

Also, as soon as they start rolling over or wriggling a lot during changes, switch to nappy pants....soooo much easier to get them on!

Second nappy pants. Absolute game changer!

Washable nappies

Nappy pants.

It might just be that the weight range for this size isn't a good fit for your child. The ranges are different pretty much everywhere. So a size 3 in Aldi is totally different to a size 3 in another shop.

We used kit and kin, eco naty or pampers premium in a pinch and yes, pull ups as soon as he started walking around. They are a bit more expensive but worth it for no leaks and he was out of them at 2. Used Aldi nappies once when he was tiny and he had the most awful skin reaction, so I was careful after that.

I moved to Sainsbury's nappies, I find the elasticated backs help on my more mobile child.

We switched to Boots own brand at size 3. The fit just wasn't good anymore and Boots were slimmer fitting but very absorbent.

My friend said mama Mia were hopeless after stage 2 so I don't think it's just you

I'm a weird one though in MN terms - I put off nappy pants as long as possible as imo changing is a faff when out as you have to strip the bottom half completely to put the new one on, rather than just pulling right down for a normal nappy.

TripleESept24 · 26/01/2025 20:37

Thanks all will Defo bare the nappy pants in mind! She's not quite rolling over yet but think she will be soon she's trying!

@LarkinAboot thanks I'm glad it's not just me!! They seem totally different to size 1 and 2! Fit and quality it awful but the size 2s were just getting far too tight and she was out of the weight range!

Think I'll give boots own size 3, the Tesco ones and Sainsbury's a go thanks @ARichtGoodDram @Seawolves @Worsthousebeststreet I remember Sainsbury's ones and some Tesco ones being decent in size 1 and 2 also TBF when I tried them

If you do the boots ones make sure you've got an advantage card as you get 10% off own brand stuff. Makes them not that much dearer than some other own brand ones

doodahdayy · 27/01/2025 02:47

Pampers are the best even if more expensive. Washable nappies are ick. Wish I could stand using them as they are better for the environment
