Night time potty training

Hi all

I have a recently turned 4 year old boy. I am currently trying to night train him
He showed signs and he does not want to wear his pull-ups anymore so I've gone with it

He is doing good, wee before bed, but I have to wake him up at 10pm to go (we discussed it with him and he's happy to be woken up)

He will still have 1 accident at night
I think problem is that he is so used to wearing a pull up at night not that he can't hold it. He's been day time trained for nearly 2 years.

Hoping someone can share experiences and tips.

Shall I still persevere and he will get used to understanding wake-up signals?

I'm happy to continue and will keep going it's more of the fact that I want some experiences and know if this is correct or not etc

Thanks

I suppose there's been a huge issue with hormones the last few years has there ?

Luckily, school is in the day time. This much definitely hasn't changed.

I waited for dry night nappies but they happened around age 3 anyway.

@KittenPause that article relates to daytime training not night time. The OP is posting about a different thing.

Personally Op I wouldn't stress. He is trained in the day which is the important thing. My dd was trained for years in the day before she mastered being dry at night. Whilst we tried her without a nappy many times, she wasn't reliably dry at night until she turned 5. It wasn't a problem for her at all. We did the usual like no drink just before bed etc...

Thank you all for your responses

@KittenPause I appreciate your commenting but your comment was actually quite mean and judgemental.

Just in general to everyone, in a world where mums get constantly judged... We only have each other so let's be kind.

I appreciate the points of views. I'm going to close the thread

@KittenPause that article is about daytime dryness. A completely different thing to nighttime. Nighttime is linked to the production of a specific hormone.

@Purplemug i have one child that was night dry at 2 years old and one that was not dry until age 13 despite plenty of intervention. It happens. Please don’t feel alone or embarrassed if this takes a while. Your child won’t be the only one.
