A good age for what? Them getting on, costing more/less, something else? Are you pregnant or just planning? 10yrs difference is quite alot, considering you'd have 1 at primary school and a 20yr old either working or at uni.

SIL had 4/5yrs between each of hers which she thought was perfect. Each child got time alone at home when the older one/s were at school, so SIL didn't feel any were left out. Some prefer a closer gap, to get the nappies and baby stage over quicker.

I’ve got a few friends who have a similar gap between their first and second. The eldest was more ‘second Mummy’ as opposed to a sibling. They all went on to have a 3rd child too with a much smaller age gap. It’s certainly not unheard of and if it works for you and your family, go for it x

Anecdotal but my friend gets on much better with her sister (8 year gap) than I do with mine (2.5 year gap) !
