Ten week old teething??

So DS is ten weeks and I think showing signs of teething. He’s a bit dribbly, red cheeks (one slightly more so), generally discontent and does seem to be in pain. He woke up far more than usual last night and as a result is trying to nap more today but keeps fretting in his sleep and waking too soon.
He also has a slight dotty red rash but think this is a reaction to swimming lesson yesterday and the hot and cold extremes.

Any advice on how to settle him? Im not completely averse to calpol but would rather not use as first line. Also, is it likely to be teething so young?
All suggestions gratefully received to help poor little one feel more comfortable.

entirely possible that it’s teething. My own two both had first teeth by 6 weeks.

I found calpol worked but only gave when they had a temp and teething rings. You can also try teething gel or powders

Thanks @MajorCarolDanvers
I have a teething ring in a drawer somewhere, will crack it out. But how does it work when he hasn’t really got the hang of gripping toys yet? Has only just learned how to stuff his fist in his mouth

I'm all for avoiding calpol, especially against using it immediately for colds etc but teething is painful and he will need some help. Teething granules, hold the teether in his mouth, etc and if he's really troubled by it, a dose of calpol might help- even just at bedtime so he doesn't get woken by the pain

My DS started at 12 weeks (chewing his lip, red checks, drooling) so Im sure 10 weeks is possible. Now nearly 6 months still not even 1 tooth😩 I was against Calpol as first line too. He was too small for teething rings etc then they all just seemed too big for him and didn't like them. So what worked for us was Teetha Granules (homeopathic, no alcohol or sugar in them) and also a damp muslin cloth into the fridge and let him chew on it when it's nice and cold.
Now at 6 months the symptoms are much worse so I do need to give Calpol and Ibuprofen when it gets bad and his form is terrible. But maybe try the non medical options while baby is so small and the symptoms hopefully aren't too bad x
