Hi. Some of you may think I am mad. I have a 22 month old DD who I am thinking about potty training. I also ave a 5 yr old who was potty trained at 22 months no problem. DD2 is very with it, knows when she has done a poo and sometimes a wee. She doesn't really like to sit on the potty but last night I managed to get her to sit on the loo and tonight she went on the loo fine, didn't do anything but it was a start. I just need to get her to sit on the potty now. Am I being mad? Thanks

If DD is happy using loo I wouldn't force her to use potty. My son wouldnt use potty for poo's HV told me to put him straight on toilet & miss out potty stage I found it easier than him getting distressed.

Ditto, why push her to use a potty if she is happy using a toilet.

We use a folded padding toilet seat for our 20 month DD for out and about.

So have you potty trained your DD babieseverywhere? I sat her on the loo again tonight and she sat there briefly. I need to have some time at home to train her but always out and about. How did you do it?

We are ECing our DD. We started putting her on a potty when she was 10 weeks old.

So though she is not toilet trained, she is generally clean and dry and has been since she has been about a year old.

Though we get the odd wee accidents, we had a wee accident on Tuesday at a M&T group but that was due to me feeding her melon for her lunch.
(I know that feeding her excessive cheese, cow's milk (in cooking) and melon make her wee a hell of a lot and more frequently but she is back to normal by the following day)

But that was the only miss we have had in several weeks, so hardly a big issue
