Breastfeeding... Can I do it only a few times a week?

BF mamas... My LO only feeds once a day now, after his midday nap. I'm going back to work next week, 4.5 days so will only be with him for 3 lunchtime feeds. What will actually happen to my milk... Will 3 days a week (friday-sunday) be enough to maintain my supply, or will I dry up? And will my boobs be able to cope not having a feed for 4 days? I'm not really interested in pumping (I exclusively pumped for 10 months with my eldest and not wanting to ever do it again!) and would rather stop BF, but just wondering if I'll be able to keep up the 1 feed a day on the 3 days I'm with baby.

Could you swap that lunchtime feed to a bedtime one? That's what I did with DS.

Your breasts will make daily what is drunk daily. If they are making enough milk for a feed on Sunday they will be sore and in need of pumping or suckling on Monday.

Agree with pp move the daily feed to evening so it can happen every day

You may well find little one is asking for a feed after work after being apart all day. It's the first thing we do after nursery pick up and a nice way to reconnect.

I agree with PP, he may well ask for milk when he comes in from nursery. That's what my little one does. Dad has to pick him up, else he won't go in the car. It's "milk, milk, milk" over and over until he gets some.
He does feed way more Ethan once a day though, even the days he's at nursery, so I don't know how your body will react given you're already producing a lot less than I am.

Another one who would move the feed. One of mine I just did the evening feed for a few months, the second I just did the morning.

How old are they OP? My kids were 9m+ when they started nursery and I agree with others, they will make up for feeds when they get home.

I found having a pump at work was helpful for the first few weeks to avoid mastitis. I chucked any milk I pumped away so I didn't bother with sterilising and storing etc.

My kid has been at nursery for 10 months now and my milk hasn't dried up. I'm pretty over feeding though!
