Scooters - what to buy?

Hi all, my 5 yr old is growing out of his bike and I want to get him into scootering for now until we get a bigger bike. Reason being we live in a hilly area far from a park so the bigger the bikes get means we need to look at a car bike rack for transport. Anyway, he is riding a 3 wheel scooter but want to get him a two wheel. I have seen a micro ramp for sale second hand which looks great but says it’s a stunt scooter. My child is quite cautious and probably won’t attempt tricks for a while but will enjoy the ramps at the skate park and scootering next to me while I walk with his brother in the stroller. What should I be looking for in a scooter? Is the micro ramp ok?

Micro scooters are great. If he wants a go on the skate park the stunt one will be fun but it won't fold up for storage and it won't be the comfiest ride. The foldable ones (Sprite?) are light and easy to store and the ones with big wheels go faster and negotiate bumps and bad pavements better but neither will be as robust on the skate park as a proper stunt scooter. We have a stunt one and a foldable one. She uses the foldable one most and only takes the stunt one if the park we're going to has well-maintained skate ramps.

A stunt scooter is designed for riding skate parks and won't be at all enjoyable for every day use. They have tiny solid wheels and aren't meant for getting from A to B. I see kids struggling along on these all the time on knackered pavements and stoney park grounds and I just don't get it. I think kids think they look cool so parents buy them not understanding how dreadful they are off the skate park.

A scooter with bike components is best for riding around town. We love Swifty scooters but they're pricey. But if you just google "scooters with bike wheels" you will see similar that are more affordable.
