Nuna leaf swing?

I'm seeing a lot of people with the nuna leaf baby swing recently. We are in a somewhat fortunate position in that due to it taking a while to conceive we have plenty of savings/money to spend on baby items.
But it's £250 and you need to manually swing it, compared with the Joie which is about £100 cheaper and swings itself.

Am I missing something? Would anyone who has used the nuna leaf recommend it?

They used to do a small motor that you could attach to the Leaf to make it rock. But I think they discontinued it. I never got one.

Tbh I have always been ambivalent about our Leaf. It's beautifully well made, and only needs a small push with your foot to get a minute or two of rocking. It also sizes up with the kids which has been nice. My 5 year old just about still fits in it. However, if I'm being honest, it was a compulsive purchase at a baby show and didn't put any real thought into how much bloody space the thing takes up. Because it really does take up a lot of space. And it's extremely heavy, so can't be lugged around the house. My kids were both velcro babies and did not like to be put down, so felt like a bit of a waste of money. Also having to pay extra for the toy bar was a bit galling.

All in all, tbh I don't recommend it unless: you've got the space, will be buying more than one chair, and plan to keep the Leaf for a few years to be used as the child grows.

I bought a second hand BabyBjorn + toybar for my second child.

The nuna leaf swing was the only thing DS1 would accept BUT we had tried 6 different types of bouncers/chairs before that and I bought it second hand. DS2 hated it and liked the babybjorn bouncer which again would have been ridiculous money from new (I picked it up at a nct sale for £15).

Basically you have no idea what they will and won't like and they don't go in them from newborn anyway. So my tip would be wait and see, go along to a few baby groups or mum friend houses and see which one your baby actually accepts!
