Baby sleeping excessively

My 6 month old baby sleeps from 8:30pm - 10/10:30am and then has up to three naps in the day and always seems tired. His day typically looks like.

8:00 - wake up feed and then straight back to sleep.
10:00-10:30 - wake up
10:30-12:00 - play/ walk
12:00-1:00 - nap (sometimes longer than this)
1:00-3:00 - lunch, play walk
3:00-4:30 - nap
4:30-6:00 - dinner and play
6:00-6:40 nap
6:40-8:30 - bedtime routine
8:30 asleep for the night
He will wake up during the night for a feeds. I'm just worried because he seems to sleep so much or when he is awake he yawns and seems tired.

My son was like this- still has a huge nap at nearly 3. It is most probably just him…. But if you are concerned it wouldn’t hurt to mention iron levels to the gp

My daughter is 7months and is a great night sleeper but only sleeps a little though the day. Maybe 2-3 30/40 min naps. No night feeds. Reading forums it seems all babies are different so it could be perfectly normal. I’m a big believer in it doesn’t hurt to check though so maybe message your health visitor

Most places seem to say 13-14 hours sleep at 6 months, with a range of 10-16 hours, so he's a little outside the typical range, but not by a huge amount. It may well just be him, but I'd probably ask for a review to be on the safe side.

Looks pretty normal to me. I was told 12-16 hours of sleep at 6 months old with 3-4 hours day time sleeping.

Routine looks pretty textbook if you're going with top end of normal sleep needed.

I wouldn't worry. I would only be concerned if baby was excessively tired whilst awake.
